About the Mayor

Novoprazhka territorial community is a settlement community in Oleksandriyskyi district of Kirovohrad region with an administrative center in the village of Nova Praha. It was formed on April 29, 2018 as a result of the merger of Novoprazhka settlement council, Sharivska and Pantaziivska village councils.

The community covers an area of ​​381.7 km² and has 12 settlements: the town of Nova Praha, the villages of Gayove, Kvitneve, and the villages of Veselka, Hryhorivka, Lozuvatka, Oleksandro-Pashchenkove, Pantaziivka, Svitlopil, Troyanka, Sharivka, and Shevchenkove. The total population is about 8,970 people.

Irpin was founded in 1899 as a railway station on the Kyiv-Kovel line. The town quickly grew, and by the early 20th century, it was a popular resort destination for Kyiv residents. In 1939, Irpin was granted city status.

In 2022, Irpin was one of the cities that was heavily damaged during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The city was occupied by Russian forces for several weeks, and many of its residents were killed or displaced. However, Irpin was eventually liberated by Ukrainian forces, and it is now in the process of being rebuilt.
