Khodorivska Community

About

Khodoriv Urban Territorial Community is an administrative and territorial unit in the Stryi District of Lviv Oblast, established in 2015 through the amalgamation of the Khodoriv City Council and ten village councils. The total area of the community is 333 km², with a population of over 24,000 residents (as of 2021). The administrative center of the community is the city of Khodoriv, located 64 km north of Lviv and 497 km from Kyiv. The community supports the development of social, educational, and healthcare infrastructure and promotes the growth of local businesses and the agro-industrial sector.

Natural Resources

The territory of the community is located in the Pre-Carpathian part of Lviv Oblast, characterized by favorable natural and climatic conditions. The area has fertile soils suitable for agricultural use and significant forest resources that are protected and used sustainably. The Luh River flows through the community, contributing to the development of water management. The community actively engages in environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources.

Positioning

The Khodoriv community is located in a strategically advantageous position along the route from Europe to the southern regions of Ukraine. The distance to the nearest EU border crossing (Krakovets–Korczowa) is approximately 135 km. The community has convenient access to the regional center of Lviv and other major cities in the region, which facilitates the development of trade, logistics, and tourism. The territory is part of the Lviv Railway Directorate, ensuring good railway connectivity.

The community is situated in the central part of Stryi District and has a well-developed road network connecting it to the main transportation routes of the region. Distances include: Lviv – 64 km Kyiv – 497 km Lviv Airport – 70 km Ternopil Airport – 115 km Boryspil Airport – 637 km The nearest seaports are Odesa (781 km), Chornomorsk (791 km), and Pivdennyi (811 km). The nearest railway stations are Zhydachiv (12 km), Stryi (44 km), and Halych (140 km). Khodoriv itself hosts an important railway junction with regular connections.
