About the Mayor

Bilshivtsi Settlement Council is the local self-government body representing the residents of the urban-type settlement of Bilshivtsi and surrounding villages within the Bilshivtsi territorial community in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. The community was established on September 13, 2016, through the merger of the Bilshivtsi Settlement Council and several village councils of the former Halych Raion. It includes 1 settlement and 15 villages.

The community actively works on developing infrastructure, education, healthcare, culture, and social services. Projects in energy efficiency, digitalization of administrative services, and support for local initiatives are being implemented.

Irpin was founded in 1899 as a railway station on the Kyiv-Kovel line. The town quickly grew, and by the early 20th century, it was a popular resort destination for Kyiv residents. In 1939, Irpin was granted city status.

In 2022, Irpin was one of the cities that was heavily damaged during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The city was occupied by Russian forces for several weeks, and many of its residents were killed or displaced. However, Irpin was eventually liberated by Ukrainian forces, and it is now in the process of being rebuilt.
