About the Mayor

Sakhnovtsy rural territorial community is located in Shepetivskyi district of Khmelnytskyi region, with its administrative center in the village of Sakhnovtsy. The community was formed on August 30, 2019 by merging the Velyko Puzyrkivska, Sakhnovtsy and Ternavska village councils of Izyaslavskyi district. In 2020, as a result of the administrative-territorial reform, the community became part of Shepetivskyi district.

The community includes 23 villages: Beizymy, Velyko Puzyrki, Vlashanivka, Hryhorivka, Dankivtsy, Zmorshky, Kalynivka, Kropivna, Lischany, Mala Medvedivka, Myrne, Novye Selo, Pylky, Sakhnovtsy, Svyrydy, Sokhuzhyntsy, Tarasivka, Telizhyntsy, Ternavka, Khrystivka, Cheptsy, Chyzhivka and Shevchenko.

Irpin was founded in 1899 as a railway station on the Kyiv-Kovel line. The town quickly grew, and by the early 20th century, it was a popular resort destination for Kyiv residents. In 1939, Irpin was granted city status.

In 2022, Irpin was one of the cities that was heavily damaged during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The city was occupied by Russian forces for several weeks, and many of its residents were killed or displaced. However, Irpin was eventually liberated by Ukrainian forces, and it is now in the process of being rebuilt.
