Mayor of Izyaslavska community
Iziaslav is one of the oldest towns in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Following the fragmentation of Kyivan Rus in the mid-12th century into separate principalities, the territory where the town is located became part of the Kingdom of Galicia–Volhynia. The town is rich in historical and architectural landmarks, with monuments dating back to the 16th century. Key heritage sites include: the Sanguszko Princes’ Palace (18th century), the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist (16th century), the Bernardine Monastery Church (17th century), the Missionary Church (17th century).
In the Dvoretskyi Monastery of the Zaslavsky Princes, near the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Dvorets, work began on the creation and translation of the Peresopnytsia Gospel—a sacred manuscript which, alongside the Constitution of Ukraine, is used during the Presidential Oath of Allegiance to the people of Ukraine. Additionally, in the vicinity of the village of Mykhniv, there is an important archaeological site—a 13th-century ancient Rus' hillfort.
